Role Description
This full-time Service Technician role is based on-site in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The position involves keeping LANG Middle East’s rental stock in top condition, with a focus on computer repairs and high brightness projectors.
Day-to-day responsibilities include testing, fault finding and repairing equipment returning from hire, carrying out routine servicing such as replacing components inside projectors, and setting up computers with the right software, updates and configurations for each job. The role also involves keeping clear service records, flagging kit that needs manufacturer repair, and making sure everything leaves the warehouse ready to work.
Working closely with the operations and technical teams, the Service Technician will help reduce downtime, maintain the life of our & customers equipment and make sure our clients get kit they can rely on.
Discretion and confidentiality are really important to us. We support many clients in a small industry, some of whom compete with each other, so you’ll need to keep details of our projects and clients totally private & confidential.
Qualifications
- Candidates should have hands-on experience repairing and servicing projectors, ideally large venue models from brands such as Barco, Panasonic or Epson.
- Candidates should be confident building, configuring and troubleshooting Windows and Mac computers, including imaging/deployment servers setup & management.
- Candidates should have basic electronics skills, such as using a multimeter and safely replacing basic components.
- Candidates should be organised and able to keep accurate service and repair records.
- Desirable but not essential if candidates have experience repairing LED screens, including module swaps, fault finding on receiving cards and power supplies, and basic calibration. Knowledge of processors such as Novastar, Brompton or Colorlight is an advantage.
- Candidates should be comfortable working in Dubai and collaborating within a multicultural team; prior experience in AV rental, events or a service workshop is an advantage.
- Manufacturer service training or certifications are a plus. We’re looking for someone who takes pride in their work and enjoys getting to the bottom of a problem.
